GJM uses Kelso’s Choice, a conflict resolution management program, school-wide. Kelso’s Choice helps students differentiate between minor problems that they can solve and those that are potentially dangerous and serious.
Our goal is to teach students several positive ways to deal with these minor conflict situations. Students are asked to try at least two “choices” when they have a “small” problem with a peer. Students are always taught to go to the nearest trusted adult for “big” problems. Kelso’s Choice empowers students to solve problems on their own with the guidance and support of trusted adults.
