GJM staff started the New Year by reading an article by Jon Gordon on choosing one word that will help each of us be our personal best in 2020. We then painted our words on a small canvas to post in a place of reflection. Our 2nd grade teachers took the idea and ran with it, purchasing the book One Word for Kids, which they read to their students. This sparked many great conversations with the children, as they reflected on what their word could be. Our art staff then took the one word idea school wide, and shared the story through art class with all students. Attached is a sampling of the words our staff and students will be reflecting on this year. We encourage you to ask you child, "What's Your Word?", and see where the conversation takes you!
