🤖BYTE-SIZED AWARD: The Ingleside High School Robotics team has qualified for the Robotics Semi-Regional Competition in San Antonio! The team earned the 'Motivate Award', which celebrates the culture of what it means to be a team. This award celebrates the team and represents the essence of team building, team spirit, and displayed enthusiasm! Here's what the judges said about the 'Cyber Stampede' team:
"This rookie team didn't know what to expect. At their first competition, they learned to connect with other teams that have been in their shoes, who knew just how to help so they wouldn't lose. This team will be galloping in to help other teams out and in this, they also win."

For the month of January, Cecile Majek, of the Technology Department was selected for the Family Matters Award!
She was recognized during our School Board Meeting, where she was celebrated for her outstanding efforts. She was also awarded $100 from the Ingleside ISD Education Foundation. Below is an excerpt from the nomination that was submitted on her behalf.
"Cecile works in the technology department at the Ingleside ISD administration office. She is responsible for "shutting down your computer and restarting it" all district campuses. After her first Dr. Pepper in the morning, sometimes it takes two, a sociable and vivacious being is created. In addition to solving everyone's technological needs Cecile has a number of other versatile roles, literally. An officer of our very own Ingleside PD was unable to have lunch with her daughter at IPS and reached out to Cecile to check her availability. A Sonic lover by heart, Cecile dropped everything and was excited to share a meal with the little one. On another occasion Cecile was at the right place at the right time when a parent went into distress on campus. Her EMT knowledge was successful in safely stabilizing a parent until paramedics arrived. Most recently, Cecile was able to thwart student's and staff's Christmas plans at GJM, LTMS, and IHS with her mischievous acts as the Grinch. After finally being "arrested" for her not so nice behaviors the Grinch turned a new leaf. In the coming days to follow she was able to make little kiddos smile from ear to ear, in the wee morning hours, as she greeted them at IPS with her rosy cheeks as Elf on The Shelf."
We encourage you that if you witness an employee who goes above and beyond and demonstrates actions or qualities that are worthy of celebrating, to tell their story and help us recognize them! The nomination form is located on the district website at www.inglesideisd.org ,under the 'About Us' section of the Menu.
Congratulations, Cecile! We're so happy you're a part of the Family at IISD.

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you about a recent development regarding one of the products that was offered in our school cafeteria.
It has come to our attention that a specific product, Quaker chewy bars in the flavors of chocolate chunk and cookies and cream, served in our cafeteria has been recalled due to possible contamination of salmonella.
The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities, and we take this matter very seriously. As soon as we were made aware of the recall, we took immediate action to remove the affected product from our inventory and cease its distribution. However, it is believed that this snack bar was sold at our High School and also placed in sack lunches for Leon Taylor Middle School boys athletics who traveled for a game on December 18, 2023.
According to a report from the Food and Drug Administration, to date Quaker has received NO confirmed reports of illness related to the products covered by this recall.
If your child has consumed the recalled product and you have any concerns about their health, we strongly recommend that you consult with your healthcare provider. Please inform them about the specific details of the product and the reason for the recall.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate through this matter. The safety of our students remains paramount, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards in our food service operations.
We are attaching a photo of what the Quaker chewy bar looks like below for your review.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at 361-776-2712, ext 2571.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
IISD Administration
