For the month of November, Kay Griffith, of Ingleside High School was selected for the Family Matters Award! She was recognized during our School Board Meeting, where she was celebrated for her outstanding efforts. She was also awarded $100 from the Ingleside ISD Education Foundation.
Below is an excerpt from the nomination that was submitted on her behalf. "Where would IHS be without Ms. Kay??? Even before she steps onto campus each day, she is already working and we are all thankful for that! She works tirelessly to ensure that our students, staff, parents, and community feel loved and supported every day. She takes hundreds of phone calls and answers thousands of questions before lunch and yet everyone is still greeted with "hey sugar." Everyone knows that she runs IHS as evidenced by the chaos that ensues on days she is out. Lol. She has been a staple at IHS for over 20 years and the impact she has had, and continues to have can be seen throughout the community and beyond. The unwavering love that the school and community have for Ms. Kay is seen in that everywhere she goes everyone knows her and she is greeted with a loving "Hi, Ms. Kay."
We encourage you that if you witness an employee who goes above and beyond and demonstrates actions or qualities that are worthy of celebrating, to tell their story and help us recognize them! The nomination form is located on the district website at www.inglesideisd.org ,under the 'About Us' section of the Menu. Congratulations, Mrs. Kay! We're so happy you're a part of the Family at IISD.
